Buxton Carnival Fun. Date taken 17th. July We chose to stand on Burlington Rd. this year, the trees and park making a better background. We were also fortunate that there was a large privet hedge that sheltered us from the rain. Buxton has a reputation for rain and it proved it in bucket loads today and we have to applaud those taking part for their resolve in carrying on, especially the bands whose instruments must have been filling with water and the bagpipes were strangely quiet. Sadly the Queens arena was disrupted by the weather and our car park ticket was fast running out so we had to leave. On our trip back to Chesterfield the roads showed little signs of any rain and there was a cricket match being played at Ashford in the Water. [Site Index]
