Tissington Well Dressings. Date taken 13th. May We usually travel out to Tissington in the evening to avoid the crowds, but we decided to attend the blessing ceremony this year. This is one of the better known venues in the well dressing calendar and people travel from far and wide to visit. Unlike some other venues the village retains it's quiet tranquil peace through the week without fairgrounds and dancers or other entertainment. Tissington is a small village so the preparation of six large dressings is quite an achievement. |
